Neon Green, Yellow and Purple Butterfly Painting

£36.00

An original abstract painting by Michelle Cassell. Painted using neon yellow, green and pink.

Each butterfly is painted using two or three core colours. I add the first colour to my paintbrush and instinctively sweep the brush across the paper. I add more paint to my brush, place the tip on the paper and allow the thick colours to blend and mix on the surface. This technique creates new shades and brushstrokes in the heavy paint that cannot be replicated. I finish each painting with a splattering of black paint. The paint falls at random and creates energy within the work. The vibrant colours pop against the inky black splats.

Butterflies are an image of new beginnings, fresh starts and of change. It is painted using bright and vibrant colours that evoke joy and happiness. I hope this painting will bring light and encouragement wherever you choose to place it.
